Easter 2012

I love Easter! Almost as much as I love Christmas. I love the colors, the clothes, the fun and let's face it, the candy is awesome! It seems like things just keep getting more fun as Henry gets older. Last year, Henry wasn't even walking yet and this year he's walking, talking and getting into all kinds of trouble :)

Henry and I started our day driving down to good ol' SV on our own. James was headed to Phoenix to see a Diamondbacks game. We had bought the tickets before we realized it was Easter. Whoops! Oh well, he and his brothers had a good time. That left me with my baby boy :)

When we arrived at my parents' house, I quickly changed Henry into his fancy church clothes and headed to church. Henry was pretty good for the church service. Well, as good as can be expected for an almost two year old to sit through an hour long church service. My favorite part was during the sermon. Henry had spotted the American flag that was up by the altar and insisted on going to see it. I promised him he could AFTER we listened to papa. Henry very loudly announced, "NO listen to papa! Go see flag!!!" Ooooh yikes! It was really hard not to laugh at that!

After church we tried to take some pictures. Yeah, Henry was so not into sitting still, looking at the camera or cooperating after sitting for an entire hour. I couldn't blame him. So we did our best :)

Then we tried taking some pictures of the kids. Sean was not into taking pictures either. So we had to corral Sean and Henry by putting Starla on one side and my mom on the other.

After church, we went home to eat some lunch (well the kids actually ate lunch, the grown ups ate junk food! Hey, it was a holiday!) and the kids took naps. After nap time, it was play time!

Then we had dinner, which I took zero pictures of. Damn. Oh well. Then Henry and I packed up some good eats and headed back home to see James. We couldn't open Henry's Easter basket without dada so we did that when we got home.

Not sure why he needed to wear his sunglasses to open his loot but it's pretty cute :)

When Henry figured out that you could open the eggs and there was chocolate inside... oh boy!!! He busted open all the eggs he could find and started gobbling up candy faster than we could catch him!

We had a very nice Easter :) It should be even more fun next year when hopefully my older brother and his family will be able to join us! They just recently welcomed a new baby boy into their family and were unable to make the trip. We are excited to meet the newest addition to the Spencer clan, little Logan, very soon :)

The next two pictures have nothing to do with Easter but they were taken the next day and were too cute not to share!

James found a little baby lizard while working in the backyard and wanted to show Henry. Now Henry had seen a lizard in the backyard before and became obsessed with seeing it again. For some reason he kept calling the lizard a hippo! Very funny! So when James showed this little "hippo" to Henry, he was thrilled!!!

Henry even let James put the lizard on his shirt :) It's kinda hard to see because Henry is trying to run away and the lizard is so small but it's there!

Our next big adventure will be getting new (fake) grass put in our backyard :) I am so happy we are finally getting this done because Henry LOVES to be outside and this will be so great for him to play on! It will be an amazing birthday present for a special little boy who will be (GULP!) TWO next month!!!! :)

Christmas in March?!?

Why not? Better late than never, right? This post is going to be a giant cluster of random pictures from between Christmas break and spring break. It's the only way to catch up!

Ok, first up Christmas! Henry celebrated his second Christmas :) He REALLY enjoyed the tree and ran every morning to turn on the lights. It was the highlight of his day. This is our tree in our new house.

We went down to Sierra Vista to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day with my family. We got Henry an adorable suit complete with vest, tie and even a little hankie! I had a really hard time finding shoes for him so we decided that it would be cute for Henry to wear his new Converse tennis shoes with his suit. I was skeptical but it turned out so adorable! Here he is in front of the tree at my parents' house.

Back to the house for PRESENTS! I didn't get too many pictures because I was really enjoying Henry opening all his presents. He really tore into them and got excited for all his gifts. Here he is opening his animals with James.

Maybe you could gather that Henry likes animals? Well nana knows that too. So she got Henry a rocking chair with animals all over it. We had to wait until we got home to give it to Henry because we needed to put it together. Henry, of course, loved playing in the box!

That does it for Christmas 2012! Good times for sure and from what I hear, it will just keep getting better as Henry gets older :)

Next up, out to dinner!

I got a gift card to the Cheesecake Factory for Christmas, so I had to use that bad boy right away! Henry had so much fun as this was the first time he got to sit in a booster instead of a high chair. (Sniff, sniff) My baby is growing up!

He also had fun using a fork to eat his bread ;) So cute!

And for some reason, during dinner, Henry started kissing my hand! I like to think it is because he loves me so much but in reality, he was probably just buttering me up so I would put him down! :) Either way, adorable!

On to Valentine's Day! Now I have never really liked Valentine's day but now that I have Henry, it forces me to see things differently. Like how Valentine's day is an opportunity for crafts and pictures! I didn't do so well here but at least I tried! :)

Snow day! While I was at work one day, it snowed! Being the good auntie that she is, Emily took Henry out to explore the snow :) He had a ball!!!

By the time I got home, it had mostly melted but Henry didn't mind! He kept touching it and saying, oooooh cold!

Then of course, he tried to eat it! Don't worry, it wasn't yellow :)

More randomness. One day while I was doing laundry, Henry decided that he wanted to put on dada's shirt. Ok why not? I tried to get a picture but he just would not cooperate (strange!). So I put him in my lap and tickled him.

Rodeo break!!! I love rodeo break. It is at a perfect time of year and this year we got the added bonus of some really great friends visiting! So what do you do with four great friends and three toddlers? Peter Piper Pizza of course! The kids ran around and we just tried to keep up!

Rodeo break was full of kids this year! My school friends and I got together too! We decided on the zoo since the weather was fantastic! This was the first time that all of us had been together with all our kids. Crazy!

On to spring break! Over the break, I have tried really hard to keep Henry busy. One of his favorite things to do it to "help" make cookies! I love how he even knows what to do with the cookie dough!

Whew! I did it! I finally blogged and got caught up! Now the trick will be keeping caught up... Wish me luck :)

Long time, no see :)

Yes, I'm still here! It's getting harder and harder to get to this dang blog lately. Mostly because I have no time but also, my computer is working soooooo slowly that it takes forever to do anything! But here I am, trying to do a post. We will see how long my computer lasts :)

Where did we leave off? Fall break, jeez. It seems like forever ago. So much has happened and I have no idea how to catch up on all of it.

We moved! I wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of moving, it's a lot of work and I really loved my house. But in the long run, it will be for the best. We are now out in Corona, which is nice and quiet but a LONG drive from anywhere. The house is bigger and more open with a nice backyard for Henry and no pool to worry about. I am finally starting to feel like this is "home" now.

Henry celebrated his second Halloween. Last year, he dressed as Tigger. This year, he dressed up as his favorite character, Mickey!

We took Henry to the zoo. He LOVED it! We got an annual pass so we are there two or three times a month.

I totally thought I had Thanksgiving and Christmas preparation pictures on my computer but alas, I do not and James has the camera. I'll have to catch up on Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff next time... Hopefully soon :)
