Trick or treat!

James and I never went trick-or-treating as kids. Our parents just weren't into that kind of stuff. So when Halloween rolled around, we weren't sure exactly what to do with Henry. After all, he is only five months old and can't eat any candy anyway. But we had already bought him a costume and totally wanted to show him off. We thought about going to the zoo or the mall but Henry is really only awake and happy for a couple hours at a time and by the time we drove anywhere, we wouldn't have that much time to really do anything. Plus, he really, REALLY likes going for walks and being outside. So we decided to go ahead and take him trick-or-treating. He seemed to enjoy it :) Here are some pics of our adorable little Henry :)

Here he is in his pre-trick-or-treating outfit.
In his Tigger costume :) We were afraid his little feet would get cold, so we put some footie pjs on underneath.

Now let me get this straight, all I have to do is ring a doorbell, look all cute and I get candy!?!

Ok, I'm not sure I believe you so I'll try it out for myself.

Ding dong!

It worked!!! Score! Help me get this paper off of here momma! :)

Henry did really well trick-or-treating. Of course, everyone thought he was just the most adorable Tigger ever! I couldn't agree more!

Ok I'm ready to go home now, I'm sleepy.
James and I had fun taking Henry trick-or-treating! Next year, he will be walking... that should be even more fun :)

These next few pics have nothing to do with Halloween but they were taken the day before and are just precious! Henry has discovered that his toes can go in his mouth! This is his new favorite activity :)

How cute is this?!

This last one is for my mom. Don't you just wanna pinch that adorable little booty? :)

Daddy dresses henry

James is going to kill me for posting this video! Normally, I will get Henry up in the morning and dress him. Sometimes Henry will sleep in so I have to leave before I can dress him. Since it's been getting cold in our house in the morning, I dress him in a onesie, pants and socks. I told James to dress Henry one morning and I find him dressed very... interestingly. See for yourself! Just don't tell James ;)

Teeth for Henry!

My baby is growing up! :*( Within a week, he has gotten TWO teeth! I've been trying all week to snap some pics of his teeth but it has proven incredibly difficult! Finally last night I enlisted James's help. I held his mouth open and James quickly got a pic. Then James held him and I got a pic. He was not too happy with us after this so we only have two pics and they aren't the best quality but you can see his little chompers!

Henry has been hard at work at some other things too. He can roll over from back to belly and belly to back like nobody's business! When on his belly, he has started lifting his booty up in the air, pushing up on his hands and knees like he's getting ready to crawl! Lord have mercy on all of us when he figures that one out! I've tried to get videos of all this but he's a bit camera shy! Here are my attempts at capturing Henry's antics.

He has also added some consonants to his speech. Where before he was all vowels, he now has some b sounds! I was hoping for some m sounds so that I could maybe hear a mama instead of baba but oh well, I'll take what I can get.

Henry's next adventure... Halloween! Now what do I do with a five month old for Halloween??? I would feel weird taking him trick-or-treating since he can't eat the candy but I want him to show off his cute Tigger outfit. What to do?

Fall break fun!

Lots of fun stuff happened over my fall break. I got to spend A LOT of quality time with my sweet baby boy and I am proud of how much we accomplished together. I have him on a schedule (mostly!). He is now taking all his naps in his crib!!! Major accomplishment for us :) He is also sleeping in his crib at night. It was hard moving him out of his bassinet that has been right next to my bed but we knew it was best for him. Mommy misses him but Henry does very well for the most part. Some nights he will sleep all the way from 7:30 at night till 7:30 in the morning! This doesn't happen as often as we'd like, but it's a start! Other nights, he'll wake up once for a quick bottle and then go back to sleep again. We are getting there :)

We took Henry for his 4 month pictures. Sears was not very nice this time so I don't have those pics. James thought he could do just as good, so here are the pics James took.

I love the look on his face! Totally looks like he is up to something :)
How can you not smile when you see that?!
What a sweet boy!
I met my friends Jenn and Aimee at Starbucks. Here are Katie and Henry. This time Katie didn't attack Henry ;) He was still not impressed... typical boy.
Ever since Henry was born, we have joked that he was switched at birth or something because he looks nothing like James or myself. The next few pics prove that he is, in fact, my son. When I was little, I was a thumb-sucker, big time. Well, looks like Henry is following in my footsteps, he IS my son!!!

Now, I know he isn't sucking his thumb here but I had been trying to get pics of him sucking his thumb all week and every time I ran for the camera, he'd take his thumb out and just smile at me... what an angel.
I also did a little something for myself this break. I got LASIK eye surgery! It was by far the easiest out of all the surgeries I've had. Quick, easy, fast recovery and amazing results. Here I am on the surgery day, my last day of glasses!!!
And finally, it's that time of year again... yes, football season is upon us! Our house is somewhat divided. I like the Cowboys and James likes the Packers. We always debate over who Henry will like. He will probably stun us all and be (gasp) a Cardinals fan! Anywho, here is a pic of daddy and baby on game day, note the matching Green Bay shirts. You can't see it in this pic, but Henry is wearing Dallas socks :)
Well, that does it for Fall break 2010. Only nine more weeks till my next break... not that I'm counting ;)
