Grandma visits, Christmas tree decorating and Starbucks!

This was a busy weekend for us. Usually by now we have all our Christmas decorations up. But having a baby around really redefines your time. So while we had some extra hands around, James and I got down to decorating! First up, some cute pics of Henry cuddling with grandma... after he decided that she was ok. Henry is very into his stranger anxiety these days. My poor neighbor, Jen, got an earful when she got a little too close for Henry's comfort. So I was a little afraid that Henry would freak out when he saw my mom. He sees her pretty regularly, about every other week, but he sometimes forgets her from week to week. Luckily my mom has lots of experience with this type of thing at her work and knew exactly how to handle it. She let me hold him until he was ready and then I stayed in sight the entire time. When he finally warmed up, my mom got some rare Henry cuddle time!

Then it was time to decorate the tree! James and I got the tree put up in record time this year because we knew we were racing Henry's nap time! It's just so much easier to get things done when we are not distracted by our adorable baby boy! When Henry got up from nap time, we were ready to put up the ornaments! I wanted Henry to put on the first one. I had him put up the ornament we made for him last year of his ultrasound picture. He was way more interested in eating it than putting it on the tree. Here are a few shots of my attempt to get Henry to put the ornament on the tree.

You want me to what with this thing? No way, I'd rather eat it!
K, I'm bored now what?
See his ultrasound ornament on the tree! That was how big he was at this time last year, only about 20 weeks! And look at him now!
Since there are like, zero pictures of me and Henry, since I'm ALWAYS the one taking the pics, I thought this might be a good time to get one or two.
After decorating the tree, Erin and my mom babysat while James and I went out on a much needed date night. While we were out, I thought I maybe wanted to try the new Holiday Starbucks drinks. I thought better of it when I realized it was already past my bedtime and the drink would most likely keep me up way late. So we agreed to get Starbucks the next day. When James arrived home with my Starbucks, Henry was in his Excersaucer. His eyes lit up at the sight of the Starbucks cup. He knew EXACTLY what to do with it too! Don't worry, he didn't actually get any! I'm not THAT bad of a mom! ;)

Maybe if Henry ever actually EATS his rice cereal, one day he can have a Starbucks for real! How's that for bribery! :)

What a fun weekend! Looks like lots of wonderful memories were made! And frankly, any weekend with Starbucks is a good one, as far as I'm concerned.

Love the picture of the two of you! I am so jealous that your tree is up already!
