Picture Perfect :)

Say CHEESE!!! Today we went to the Picture People to get Henry's two year pictures done. Needless to say, it was exhausting! He would not sit still, look at the camera or smile for anything! My sister Erin came with me to try to get some good pics. Someone should have taken pictures of the two of us! Jumping around, singing happy birthday, clapping, etc... I am a little happy that he was being so difficult because it made me feel better about all the times I have tried and failed to get pics. It's not just me!!! The lady even said he gets the most difficult award for the day... but at least he was happy while he was being uncooperative ;) I went ahead and got the entire CD because I felt like I did so much work that I should have something to show for all our hard work! Please enjoy my adorable son :)

First shot. Still warming up and not quite sure what is going on.

For some reason, he kept playing with his hands . It was like a nervous habit. So strange because I've never seen him do this. But yay, a smile :)

 So serious, and handsome!

I am so done just sitting here!

 Such a coy little smile.

Here is his cheesy, say cheese, smile :)

 Silly boy.

He looks like I just put him in time out! All I wanted was a cute, smiling picture... or five or six :)

 Yay!

He is up to something here. Probably plotting his escape. He kept saying, want to go play!

We tried a fire truck to try to get him to sit still and smile. It kind of worked.

Yay!

There he goes!

Cheese? Can I go play now?

Ooh a beach ball! I love this picture, even though he is not smiling. It is still cute :)

He liked the chair too, for about three seconds.

I told him to build a sand castle so he actually tried to start digging in the floor :)

Playing with his hands again, but a sweet smile!

I was throwing the beach ball at him to get him to look at the camera and smile :)

And last but not least, my favorite picture! Totally natural smile and so relaxed. Next time, I will bring my own ball :) I love this boy!!!

We made that poor photographer earn her money today! Now Henry and I both need a nap :)

Birthday Pics :)

Henry's second birthday was a blast! We had lots of family over but you would never know from the pictures. I did this last year too! I handed the camera off and totally forget to get pictures of everyone else! D'oh! Anyway, Henry began his birthday with, what else, PRESENTS! He was still a bit unsure at first but got into it quickly. He opened one present first thing in the morning. It was a book, Polar Bear Polar Bear, what do you hear? He loved it and played with it all morning. I actually had to hide it so that he would open the other presents :) Here are some pictures from his present opening extravaganza.

Opening the first present of the bunch.

He was so excited to see the giant stuffed elephant! He wouldn't even let anyone else hold it while he opened other presents!

My little family amid a pile of presents :)

My sister Erin got Henry a light saber! I love that he is wearing his Darth Vader shirt while wielding his light saber! Thanks Auntie Zee Zee!

Opening more presents.  Emily got him some adorable clothes with some of his favorite characters. She got him some Mickey PJs, Mickey shirt, Star Wars shirt and (ugh) the Beatles. He will look so cute in all his cool new gear! Thanks Auntie Em!

Riiiiiiiip!

Puzzles! Yay!

One of Henry's favorite things was a little plastic yo-yo thing that I got from the dollar section at Target! It really is the little things that make him happy :)

Opening his Bubble machine! I tried to get pictures of him using it outside but he was running so fast to try to catch the bubbles that he was just a blur!

We spent some time outside in the hot, hot heat where we played with the bubble machine and the cute picnic table that my mom got for him. Thanks Nana!! Look at that face! It's like he is posing :)

Trying to get a good family picture. That kid will not sit still! This is the best we got :) The sun makes it look like I have a horn or something! But Henry is kinda smiling so I call this a success!

Then it was time for cake. My sister, Erin made him a yummy white chocolate cake! Henry REALLY enjoyed everyone singing him happy birthday and blowing out the candles. He made us do it like three times! I love the pictures of me with my phone trying to get a video :)

I love how Henry was trying to blow out the candles. He was actually blowing down so it was hard for him to get to the candles. He did eventually get them :)

More outside pics after cake :) LOVE my sweet little two year old baby boy!!!

Mama and baby. Yes I will still be calling him my baby forever :)

Henry had a fantastic birthday! Thank you to all our family who came over to spend time with our boy :) He truly enjoyed his birthday celebrations and was still talking about everything as I put him to bed tonight. Another great year is coming up, I just know it!!! :)

Birthday Video

Whew! I need a weekend to recover from my weekend! We had a ton of family over at our place the last couple of days to celebrate Henry's birthday so I have a million pictures to sort through from my phone, James's phone, our camera and the Flipcam. I am working on organizing them but I wanted to post this one video for now because I find it flippin' adorable!

We had to sing and blow out candles at least three more times. And the best part (that I, of course, could not get on video) was that after we were done and eating our cake, Henry would randomly break out into a verse of, Happy Birthday Dear Henry! Yaaaay! It was super cute :)

Birthday boy!!!

Today is Henry's second birthday! It seems like just yesterday that I met that tiny, little baby boy and now he is TWO! I remember the day (well actually, the night) that Henry was born so clearly. It was such a long process and I was so exhausted, but the minute I saw that adorable baby boy, I fell in love and my life changed forever. It has been a whirlwind of fun-filled chaos but I wouldn't change it for the world! I love that boy more than life itself :) He makes our life complete. Here is a look back :)

First time James held Henry

My first time holding Henry. I think I was still in shock. He was just so PERFECT!

First family photo! I look fantastic ;)

Skip ahead to Henry's first birthday! I like this family picture much better :) Look at the smile on that boy's face! How could you not just love him to pieces?!

Henry's first birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza :) Good times!

Tomorrow (I hope!) there will be pictures from today's festivities :) Happy birthday to my sweet and precious baby boy! From what I hear, the two's are NOTHING compared to the three's so I am going to try to enjoy this year as much as I can :) Fun times ahead!!!

Easter 2012

I love Easter! Almost as much as I love Christmas. I love the colors, the clothes, the fun and let's face it, the candy is awesome! It seems like things just keep getting more fun as Henry gets older. Last year, Henry wasn't even walking yet and this year he's walking, talking and getting into all kinds of trouble :)

Henry and I started our day driving down to good ol' SV on our own. James was headed to Phoenix to see a Diamondbacks game. We had bought the tickets before we realized it was Easter. Whoops! Oh well, he and his brothers had a good time. That left me with my baby boy :)

When we arrived at my parents' house, I quickly changed Henry into his fancy church clothes and headed to church. Henry was pretty good for the church service. Well, as good as can be expected for an almost two year old to sit through an hour long church service. My favorite part was during the sermon. Henry had spotted the American flag that was up by the altar and insisted on going to see it. I promised him he could AFTER we listened to papa. Henry very loudly announced, "NO listen to papa! Go see flag!!!" Ooooh yikes! It was really hard not to laugh at that!

After church we tried to take some pictures. Yeah, Henry was so not into sitting still, looking at the camera or cooperating after sitting for an entire hour. I couldn't blame him. So we did our best :)

Mama and baby :)

I love this face!!! And I love his sweater vest :) He looks just like a little Chandler Bing :)

Then we tried taking some pictures of the kids. Sean was not into taking pictures either. So we had to corral Sean and Henry by putting Starla on one side and my mom on the other.

So Cute!! :)

I love the angelic look on Henry face. As if two seconds before this was snapped, he wasn't running amok around a church!

I think this was the closest we got to everyone looking at the camera and sorta smiling :)

After church, we went home to eat some lunch (well the kids actually ate lunch, the grown ups ate junk food! Hey, it was a holiday!) and the kids took naps. After nap time, it was play time!

Henry and Sean playing nicely... for the most part :)

Sean enjoyed pushing Henry down the slide.

Then we had dinner, which I took zero pictures of. Damn. Oh well. Then Henry and I packed up some good eats and headed back home to see James. We couldn't open Henry's Easter basket without dada so we did that when we got home.

Not sure why he needed to wear his sunglasses to open his loot but it's pretty cute :)

When Henry figured out that you could open the eggs and there was chocolate inside... oh boy!!! He busted open all the eggs he could find and started gobbling up candy faster than we could catch him!

Yummmmm!!

This stuff is awesome!

We had to hide those eggs so he would focus on the rest of the stuff in the basket.

Not impressed with the Peeps... or anything really after the eggs were gone ;)

We had a very nice Easter :) It should be even more fun next year when hopefully my older brother and his family will be able to join us! They just recently welcomed a new baby boy into their family and were unable to make the trip. We are excited to meet the newest addition to the Spencer clan, little Logan, very soon :)

The next two pictures have nothing to do with Easter but they were taken the next day and were too cute not to share!

James found a little baby lizard while working in the backyard and wanted to show Henry. Now Henry had seen a lizard in the backyard before and became obsessed with seeing it again. For some reason he kept calling the lizard a hippo! Very funny! So when James showed this little "hippo" to Henry, he was thrilled!!!

Henry checking out the baby "hippo."

Henry even let James put the lizard on his shirt :) It's kinda hard to see because Henry is trying to run away and the lizard is so small but it's there!

Our next big adventure will be getting new (fake) grass put in our backyard :) I am so happy we are finally getting this done because Henry LOVES to be outside and this will be so great for him to play on! It will be an amazing birthday present for a special little boy who will be (GULP!) TWO next month!!!! :)
